In this role, you’ll grow a strong book of business by building relationships, engaging with the community, and providing expert real estate lending support with heart.


What You’ll Do

Be a Member Advocate

  • Meet with members to understand their goals and help them navigate real estate lending with confidence.
  • Gather documentation, analyze loan scenarios, and partner with realtors to create smooth, seamless experiences.

Grow Community Connections

  • Build and nurture referral networks through community events, business partnerships, and authentic relationship-building.
  • Represent Altana as a trusted resource in the real estate lending space.

Support and Empower Our Team

  • Train team members to spot referral opportunities and feel confident discussing mortgage options.
  • Share real estate lending insights with staff, helping elevate financial understanding across the credit union.

Collaborate with Investors and Partners

  • Work closely with investors and other industry partners to deliver strong lending solutions to our members.

What We Expect

  • Maintain expert‑level knowledge of credit union products, services, and all regulatory requirements including BSA, Fair Lending, safety, security, and privacy.
  • Serve as a positive, professional representative of Altana in every interaction — with members, team members, vendors, and community partners.
  • Participate in required meetings and complete assigned training to maintain compliance and develop your skills.
  • Follow all credit union policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate reliability by reporting to work on time each scheduled day.
  • Support additional responsibilities as needed to serve our members and team.

What You Bring

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience

  • Two or more years of customer-facing sales experience in the financial services industry
  • NMLS certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Real estate and loan generation experience preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of real estate and loan generation, with the ability to adapt to unique situations
  • Solid analytical, planning, and multitasking abilities
  • Comfortable using spreadsheets, checklists, and lending systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Deep knowledge of real estate markets, underwriting, and lending policies
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with members, coworkers, and community partners
  • Sound judgment and decision-making within assigned responsibilities
  • Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
