Vice President of Human Resources – Altana Federal Credit Union

Position Summary

The Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR) is responsible for developing and executing HR strategy aligned with the organization’s business objectives. Key focus areas include talent acquisition, employee retention and development, compensation and benefits, and succession planning. The VP of HR will serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and the board of directors, articulating human capital needs and delivering people-focused solutions.

Responsibilities

·         Lead and guide all aspects of the HR function, including recruitment, career development, succession planning, and total rewards

·         Implement HR strategies that align with Altana’s mission, values, and culture

·         Design and manage competitive, cost-effective compensation and benefits programs

·         Develop proactive talent acquisition strategies to build a strong hiring pipeline

·         Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across the organization

·         Manage and mentor the HR team

·         Navigate complex employee relations issues and coach leaders toward effective resolution

·         Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

·         Travel to branches and operational meetings as needed

Skills and Qualifications

·         Strong analytical skills with the ability to prepare insightful reports for leadership

·         Proven ability to resolve complex employee issues with professionalism and discretion

·         In-depth understanding of HR best practices and employment law

·         Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels

·         High degree of sensitivity, confidentiality, and ethical integrity

·         Inspirational leadership with a commitment to organizational growth and employee success

Education and Experience

·         Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field required; advanced degree preferred

·         Minimum of 5 years in HR leadership, with broad experience in employee relations, recruiting, benefits, and compensation

·         Credit Union or banking experience is required

·         SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification preferred

·         Proficiency in HR information systems (HRIS)
